From Home

From Home is a self-published book, sharing the stories of the past century in Atholl, told by its residents.

This project was born from a fascination for stories being told by local people in the Blair Atholl Watermill, whilst I worked there as a waitress. Creating a book offered an opportunity for me to explore the crafts of interviewing, writing, design and photography, whilst most importantly documenting the rich social history of Blair Atholl and its surroundings.

The book was fully self-published by myself, and printed and bound in Glasgow by Bell & Bain, using sustainable materials. Since its launch in November 2020, copies have been shipped all over the world, and it has spurred conversation and memories, whilst receiving a 4 star rating from The Scottish Field.
